  Professor Gerald Winslow PhD

Loma Linda University, California USA

Dr Gerald Winslow is Professor of Ethics at Loma Linda University where he teaches students of the health professions. He received his undergraduate education at Walla Walla College, his master’s degree from Andrews University, and his doctorate from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. He has been a visiting scholar at Cambridge University in England and a visiting professor at the University of Tübingen in Germany. For the past thirty years, he has specialized in teaching and writing about ethics, especially health care ethics and resource allocation. He has published several books and his most recent titles include Triage and Justice and Facing Limits. In addition he has published many articles which have appeared in academic journals such as the Western Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Pediatrics, and the Journal of Medicine and Philosophy, the Hastings Center Report, and General Dentistry. He has presented lectures and seminars at universities and for professional groups throughout North America and in Australia, Europe and China. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Winslow serves as an ethics consultant to a number of health care organizations. He is also on the advisory board of the Center for Vulnerable Populations Research at the University of California at Los Angeles
